VASI Electric Hands
The VASI series of electric hands, known for their quality and reliability have been designed for limb-deficient children in the zero to eleven year age range. The V 0-3, V 2-6, V 5-9, V 7-11 hands are aesthetic and light weight yet can withstand the rigors of child play because of injection molded construction techniques. All four VASI hands are compatible with the most popular switch and myoelectric control systems from VASI and LTI. Connection is made easy with the commonly used Otto Bock 4-pin type connectors. Standard rotation wrists allow the hand to be passively positioned. A wide variety of other wrist units are available including: friction wrists, FlexiWrists, and OmniWrists as well as a powered wrist rotator. The totally modular design simplifies assembly and maintenance. All electronic components are packaged to permit economical repair or replacement. Similarly, the integrated motor and gear housing can be easily removed and replaced if necessary. Several control options are offered including integrated power-bridge and energy-saver circuits that allow the prosthetist to customize the hand to suit the child’s needs. One or two-muscle fixed speed and two-muscle proportional speed control are now offered as standard strategies through a new programmable circuit. For those who prefer to try different control strategies, the new Single Programmable Module (SPM) provides this flexibility. This universal microprocessor-based circuit board fits all four size hands. Since these circuits can be reprogrammed, the control strategy can be modified to suit the user as they develop. Control options include; one-site, parental access switch, two-site, proportional speed and digital (on/off) control. These circuits accept signals from; analog electrodes, Touch Pads and switches. These hands are also compatible with LTI’s Programmable VariGrip Controllers which further increase the control options available to the prosthetist. M1 1 site, 1 function, digital control (cookie cruncher) M2 1 site, 2 function, level sensitive (3-state) digital control M3 1 site, 2 function, rate sensitive M4 2 site, 2 function, level sensitive proportional control M5 2 site, 2 function, level sensitive digital control M6 2 site, 2 function, rate sensitive M7 1 site, alternate control fixed speed M8 1 site, alternate control variable speed
